Welcome to Great Adaptations, a site and blog for creative thinkers, innovators, bloggers, writers, artists, and anyone seeking to expand their brain’s potential, engage the edges of imagination, and be part of a community of people using their minds to the utmost.

INTERFACES INFORM ME

Interfaces are the meeting points where diverse real-world communities touch the Internet, also called the “Global Brain.” These interfaces are the source of my writing on Great Adaptations.

Tools of Adaptation

The greatest adventure of our time can be seen as the brilliant adaptation of our minds – and our lives – to the challenges before us. Here on this website I want to inspire you to fully engage all the tools of adaptation – healthy brains, wild imaginations, the call to innovate, the desire for community and culture creation are just a few. Like the late Donella Meadows, I believe it is still possible to create solutions for our planet and its systems. This is my ultimate personal objective: To participate in the collective creation of a viable future on earth. To that end, my mission with Great Adaptations.org is threefold:

  • To motivate people to take steps to strengthen their brains through accessible daily postings about brain health,
  • To offer inspiration and tools for keeping the imagination fully engaged, and
  • To foster brilliant innovation in all who come to participate.

Be sure to check the GLOSSARY for explanations about the language which is developing around innovation and technology. Let me know what words you think should be included. It takes many participants to create usable jargon!

I invite you to join this community by subscribing to my e-mail list. You can do that at the top of the right column on this page, by typing in your e-mail address in the blank provided and clicking on the word “Subscribe.”

My subscribers receive special materials which are not published on the blog. This includes an introductory series called “Before You Begin,” which is designed to help my readers enter the world of online communication without falling into the overwhelming abyss of information available.

Later, I’ll be teaching a special class called “The Writer in the Blog,” for professional writers, Boomers, beginners and others who are learning how to make a living as an online communicator.

Thank you for visiting my website! I hope to see you again in my community.

Beautiful website, Sis. Lots to read here. I scrolled through all the pages, I think. My brain is full now, so I have to go hang upside down and let some of the overflow empty out into the carpet. Will that smell up the carpet, do you think?

  2. Suzanna says:

Oh, I don’t know, SisKath, I think “brain overflow” would probably smell like books. That’s quite a technique you have!
