I train people to use modern media. You may have noticed that marketing is undergoing a transition. Your ability to employ the tools now available to everyone through modern technology will make a difference in your business growth, your creative expression, and your connection to the larger community.

The tools of modern media include simple blogs, microblogging (currently served by Twitter), as well as cross-connecting social networking sites, video, and audio. In classes or consults, we focus on your needs and develop a strategy to take you toward your goals.

Be sure to look at the Speaking Schedule for more information about ongoing classes. Below is a description of some of the material you may learn.

Twitter for the Trees is a series of three classes which take the newer user of modern communication through that tricky entry portal.

The New Media Class Series

Understanding and using these tools are critical skills for the immediate future.

  • Are you a small business owner, an artist, healer, or entrepreneur?
  • Did you know that job hunting is now also an entrepreneurial art?
  • To thrive in any business today requires competence with modern communication.
  • And that means knowing about blogging, Twitter, and how these important tools form the foundation of your outreach.

These three classes give you that foundation.

Each class stands alone.

Together they provide the skills for your web presence to

gain momentum and authority.

The first class: The Global Brain & You

We cover how to initiate your Twitter presence, and begin to develop relationships with people who are the most relevant to your goals. This class covers many aspects of new media, its impact on our culture, the profound shift in marketing, and how your web presence helps you achieve your goals. We also talk about using a Facebook group and creating a Google profile as a professional interface with your web community.

The second class: Your Front Porch – The Simple Blog

In this class you will discover the simplicity of blogging and why blogs are now more desirable than a static website. Through your simple blog, you can attract readers who care about your perspective, your business, your creations, and your content. You will learn how to connect your blog to Twitter, and how the two help each other grow. We cover two free blogging sites: Blogger and Wordpress.

The third class: Professional Content –

Your Voice – Your Passion

This class brings you into the world of blogging and microblogging (that’s Twitter), where content is presented in a unique way. The term “brain-friendly” does not only apply to keeping your brain happy through the learning curves. You also need to be able to present your material in a brain-friendly way for your readers. We cover blog formats along with supporting content that springs from your passion. Your voice is unique, and will attract a unique readership. In the third class, you will begin to build momentum toward your goals.

Suzanna says: “My objective is mass involvement in new media. I am focused on the newer user, which includes most Boomers. Because I want these tools accessible by all, I search for ways to deliver classes affordably. We still have millions of people who cannot afford the typical $97 online purchase to learn new media, and most of those people find learning online to be an exercise in frustration. My classes are taught using techniques I call “brain-friendly,” without overwhelm, and with the motivation that comes from understanding the cultural value and meaning of new media.”

TWITTER for the TREES:

With every class we are planting trees in deforested areas.Trees are planted through a partnership with Kim Isley and her site,

Trees For A Change

We can plant a tree for about every 10 people who attend. Let your friends know about the New Media Class Series, and help to build this collective capacity for communication in your own town.

These three classes give you

a blueprint for your optimal new media strategy.

“Suzanna explains everything in such a personal, easy to understand way. In the middle of her live workshop, I suddenly realized I was feeling excited rather than overwhelmed, and I left feeling empowered to begin my blog!” Abba Anderson, LAc, CCHT, MSOM

“Speaking directly to the hidden optimist in us, Suzanna’s leadership is both practical and provocative. She guides her readers through the daily debris of overwhelm and keeps us focused squarely on the real meaning of new media: to connect.” Susan B. Gross, Illustrator and teacher

“While Suzanna expertly leads through the new territory of online communication, she also offers a refreshingly illuminating vision of how our lives might be changed. In a culture starved of practical approaches, this course is an accessible jewel.” Molly Albracht Sierra, California Poets in the Schools
