How to write online content: Classes
Your content is the critical piece for a credible web presence.
Brain-Friendly Blogging Classes
with Suzanna B. Stinnett
Suzanna teaches people how to write practical online content for effective business blogging, community building, and creative expression. Whether you want to expand your web presence to attract new clients, or to launch a new online business, you can learn to write content that builds a loyal readership. All classes include accessible information to start your blog affordably and without overwhelm.
Local Talks
I am available for brown-bag lunch talks and other one-hour gatherings. In these talks, I help bloggers understand how online content works with the human brain, how blogs can be effectively connected to the rest of new media, and what some people are doing with their blogs to help the larger community. Please contact me with any questions or to request a free talk in your area. (suzanna@greatadaptations.org)
Class Descriptions and Consulting
Local Workshops
These are 2 ½ hour workshops. I teach a series of three classes, and each one stands alone. We start with Twitter, The Global Brain and You. The second class is Twitter and Your Simple Blog. The third one is Content: The Electric Connection to Your Reader. In these sessions you will get started in the Twitter conversation, get your blog up and running, and learn the critical points of brain-friendly blogging. We create a practical strategy that allows you to build your content without overwhelm, and look at ways to begin building a loyal readership. Everything you need to know to begin is covered in these sessions. These workshops are usually offered at $30.00 per person. (Discount for earlybird registration.) Email Suzanna (suzanna@greatadaptations.org) about workshops in your area.
Community Casual Consulting
I also offer a “community casual” class for groups up to about twenty people. This is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges we share while you make new connections. The goal in these consultations is to leave knowing what you are going to blog about, how you’ll begin, and how to get your questions answered. We meet in local cafes and in private homes for about an hour and a half. (These are also called “kitchen classes.”) The cost for these sessions is $15 per person. The classes are provided free to those who host in their home. Time slots are usually available within a week or two. Would you like to gather your local group and host a class? Email Suzanna to make arrangements – suzanna@greatadaptations.org.
Self-Paced e-Course
Another way you can start building a foundation with your own blog is to take my e-course, “The Writer in the Blog.” This is one of my “Brain-Friendly Blogging Guides,” and is available through the link below as a download. You can work at your own pace, and I suggest you take three weeks to work through the material. This course provides a solid foundation to grow a successful blog with excellent, passion-based content. Three weeks gives your brain time to integrate, and promotes your creative involvement. The e-course is currently offered at only $14.95. Here is the link to the site called Scribd, which hosts the book: The Writer in the Blog
The Community Salon called BABS
“BABS” is the Bay Area Bloggers Society. BABS holds salon-style meetings, usually once a month. Guest speakers focus our meeting for the first half hour, then we have Q&A with Suzanna as we help each other further our blogs. I founded BABS as one way for us to learn together to further the “onground” communities which can be greatly enhanced by new media. It’s a friendly, connected, and low-cost way to engage the learning involved when you want to build your skills in online communication. You can join us on the MeetUp group and be notifie of our meetings at http://meetup.com/BABSociety.
I welcome your questions, and respond promptly to your emails.
Thank you for reading! I look forward to seeing you in the community.
